The Poet Laureate of the United States and author of the book “Life on Mars” visited Southeastern Louisiana University on March 26 as part of the university’s Common Read program.
I had the honor of interviewing her for a craft talk. She was very generous with her advice and just a joy to be around. Her visit included a talk and Q/A with high school students for various parishes in Louisiana, a craft talk with me and an evening reading for the public.
Her most recent book is Wade in the Water.
