I Am Black (Poem)

"I Am Black" poem invokes hop scotch game traditions.
I wrote this poem to use play as a tool to teach my daughter how to affirm her beauty and  blackness after a racist incident we encountered at at a library.

This short video accompanied a presentation about New Orleans that explored communal love as the sustaining force of Black people Post-Katrina.
