March is Women's History Month and April is National Poetry Month--that means I am busy being a woman and poet. LOL. No seriously, it's a blessing to be busy and to share my poems with the world. However, this work is not easy. Balancing artistry with marriage, motherhood, bills, pandemic and ...these gas prices is no easy task. Whew!
Nevertheless, we are here. We are more than survivors. We are contributions to our communities and the planet. One of my favorite songs as a child was: "This Little Light of Mine."
I return to it often as a mediation and reminder that my work is not defined by success but by purpose.
Look for a revamped website, new poems and more soon. For now, journey with me....
On March 8 & 9 I was commissioned to opened and close the Louisiana Health Summit: Pathways Through Policy for Equitable Recovery with poetry.
I completed my She Leads Fellowship with the Power Coalition of Louisiana. What an amazing experience. It is truly a divine network of sisterhood. Extremely blessed to have been in that number. More soone about the project I am producing from the fellowship soon.
I will have a poem translated into German and published in the country.
